My Love...

"When I say, "I love you," it's not because I want you or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I've seen your kindness and your strength. I've seen the best and the worst of you. And I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You're a hell of a woman.”"

Dirty Feet

If a healthy soil is full of death, it is also full of life: worms, fungi, microorganisms of all kinds ... Given only the health of the soil, nothing that dies is dead for very long.

Ode To A Beautiful Nude

ODE TO A BEAUTIFUL NUDE

With a chaste heart
With pure eyes I celebrate your beauty
Holding the leash of blood
So that it might leap out and trace your outline
Where you lie down in my Ode
As in a land of forests or in surf
In aromatic loam, or in sea music

Beautiful nude
Equally beautiful your feet
Arched by primeval tap of wind or sound
Your ears, small shells
Of the splendid American sea
Your breasts of level plentitude
Fulfilled by living light
Your flying eyelids of wheat
Revealing or enclosing
The two deep countries of your eyes

The line your shoulders have divided into pale regions
Loses itself and blends into the compact halves of an apple
Continues separating your beauty down into two columns of
Burnished gold
Fine alabaster
To sink into the two grapes of your feet
Where your twin symmetrical tree burns again and rises
Flowering fire
Open chandelier
A swelling fruit
Over the pact of sea and earth

From what materials
Agate?
Quartz?
Wheat?
Did your body come together?
Swelling like baking bread to signal silvered hills
The cleavage of one petal
Sweet fruits of a deep velvet
Until alone remained
Astonished
The fine and firm feminine form

It is not only light that falls over the world spreading inside your body
Yet suffocate itself
So much is clarity
Taking its leave of you
As if you were on fire within

The moon lives in the lining of your skin

Happy Birthday To Me

“Will you love me in December as you do in May,

Will you love me in the good old fashioned way?

When my hair has all turned gray,

Will you kiss me then and say,

That you love me in December as you do in May?”

~ James Walker

Solitude

There is a solitude in me that I embrace. A solitude that provides a channel for my thoughts. A place where I can expand on emotions or feel my way through an idea. I meet with myself there quite often, spending moments that are uninterrupted by lifes judgments or the ideologies of others.

I entertain magical thoughts, thoughts about the beauty of a star, its power all too often taken for granted. Thoughts about love and all its sadness and its many amazing possibilities ... the power it creates in me, the way in which it nurtures me, drives me, motivates me, inpires me to want to do good for others. I think of falling stars, lonely trees, open fields, about life moving in slow motion .... how much more beautiful some things are when you slow them down... a tumbleweed, a kiss on the cheek, a loving glance - the interlocking fingers of two hands in love, a smile, a sigh. Solitude is not loneliness, it is a gift. A gift too many don't take advantage of. I for one, enjoy the solitude - I seek it, thirst for it....take full advantage of it. I would not be who I am today, were it not for the quiet moments I spend listening to the world within me....

When was the last time you felt the rhythm of your own heart?

Smokinnnn'

One of my favorites movies of all time is "Breakfast a Tiffany's" - and I still get a kick at how Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard lit up through pretty much the whole movie.

Health issues aside.... I still think smokin' looks so damn sexy on some women.
